Food is one of the best things about a baby shower for the guests. Here are several fun baby shower recipes that are also easy. You'll have all your guests thinking you spent hours upon hours mixing up these yummy treats for everyone and begging you for the recipes afterwards.

Of all the fun baby shower recipes, this is perhaps my favorite. It's a great dip for fruit and is very simple to make. You need to packages (8 ounces each) of cream cheese softened and 1 large jar or marshmallow cream. You mix the two together and serve with chunks of fruit. It's a sweat treat that encourages everyone to enjoy some healthy fruit as well, very important for the mom to be.

There are also some recipes for your baby shower that encourage everyone to eat more veggies. This is a great recipe for dill dip. You need one cup of mayonnaise, one cup of sour cream (you can use fat free or low fat versions of both the sour cream and the mayonnaise I haven't noticed a terrible difference in the quality by doing so), 1 tablespoon of dill, and 1 teaspoon of seasoning salt. Mix all these ingredients together and they go excellent with green, yellow, and red peppers, baby carrots, cucumbers, and cauliflower.

I like simple things, if you haven't guessed from my previous recipes, perhaps this one will convince you. This is a simple punch that is easy to make and inexpensive. You will need 4 2-liter bottles of sprite and 2 half-gallon packages of rainbow sherbert. Start with one half-gallon of sherbert and pour 2 of the sprite bottles over it. You can break up the sherbert as needed with your punch bowl ladle.

One of my favorite fun baby shower recipes is sausage balls. Who am I kidding? I like these yummy treats anytime guests are coming. They do make great snacks for baby showers and are not too terribly difficult to make (rolling them can be time consuming, you may want to enlist helpers for this part and make a party of that, these can be made ahead which is why I love them so much). You need 1 pound of ground sausage (I use sausage with sage for a little extra flavor), ? pound of sharp cheddar cheese finely grated, 3 cups of bisquick, 1 egg, and ? cup of milk. You mix all the ingredients and then roll the mixture into 1-inch balls. Bake the balls at 375 degrees for about 15 minutes, turn them over at about 8 minutes. The really good news is that this recipe makes several dozen, which you will probably need.

You do not have to be a gourmet chef in order to have excellent food for your guests and the guest of honor. In fact, these fun baby shower recipes will help you convince everyone you're pretty darned near gourmet with only a little effort. After you figure what your eating you will need some baby shower plates.
