Baby Shower Hostess Gifts | Saying Thanks

Baby shower hostess gifts are gifts that you give to the wonderful person or people that host your shower for you. These gifts can be fun gifts, frivolous gifts, or deeply sentimental and meaningful gifts. There is no set rule for what to or not to give the person who hosted your shower for you. While there is no set in stone right or wrong baby gifts for the host, your gifts should be a reflection of your relationship with the hostess and his or her relationship with you and your new baby. If the hostess is a closer personal friend, you may want to give them a nice framed photograph of you and your baby, or better, her holding your new baby. This is an excellent idea for close relatives who may have hosted the shower as well. Another great idea for a gift could be do it yourself spa kits, bath and body products or gift certificates for manicures and/or pedicures. The manicures and pedicures can be pricey but if there is only one host and it's someone who would love the gift, it might very well be worth it. Hopefully you'll be throwing her a baby shower one day and she will keep that in mind. But we almost all enjoy the occasional excuse to pamper ourselves; new, pamper me, products always seem to work well in giving us a good reason. Potted flowers are also excellent baby shower hostess gifts. If not flowers you may want to consider herbs or green plants. I have a deep fondness for ferns and think that everyone else should share my love for them so I think those are excellent hostess gifts. You can even tuck a little chocolate treat in the card to make it that much sweeter. Which brings me to chocolate. There are very few women I know who wouldn't appreciate a sweet treat by way of thanks and these make really nice baby shower hostess gifts. Even those watching their waistlines (don't you hate them about the third trimester) can indulge if you are thoughtful enough to select sugar free chocolates. Candles are perhaps my favorite gifts. I love having a house that is full of wonderful and delicious scents, there's something about this that just makes a house feel like a home. Candles are an excellent way to convey the warmth and affection you feel for others and a great gift to give as well as receive. If you're really a nice person you will also get them a nice holder of some sort for their new candle. Restaurant gift certificates also make excellent hostess gifts. Giving someone a night off from cooking and cleaning house after they have done so much cooking, planning, and cleaning house for your baby shower just seems so appropriate doesn't it? I have one last suggestion. As an avid reader, I think sharing that passion with others is an excellent gift. A gift card to Barnes and Nobles is like candy at Christmas for me and I would hope others would get as much joy from it as I would. If your hostess isn't much of a reader, find somewhere that will spark her interest Pier One, Starbucks, or make a gift basket for her with a few of her favorite things. Remember that baby shower hostess gifts can be as much fun in the giving as they will be in the receiving. Just make sure that if it's really great, you give her enough that she'll want to share with you. Have you thought of baby gift baskets.
