Homemade baby shower favors are a great way to give your guests something fun and festive to bring home with them. It?s also a way to make sure that no one leaves empty handed. We all want people to have a lot of fun and make wonderful memories at any event we host, baby showers give us plenty of creative license to make sure this will happen. Here are a few excellent homemade baby shower favors that will not only be fun to make, but to keep as well. 1) Scrapbook pages. These are actually things that the guests can make for themselves. I suggest having them make one for the mommy to be and one for themselves as well. That way they will have a place to keep their photographs from the shower. ) Baby food jar pictures. Have a photograph of the mom and dad to be scanned and applied to the outside of a clean baby food jar. Fill the jar with candy or some other small tokens and glue baby wrapping paper or fabric to the lid. Place the lid back onto the jar and tie a small piece of ribbon around it. 3) Another great thing you can do with baby food jars is to use them as votive holders. You can buy blue or pink if you know the baby?s sex or buy some of both and leave it to fate. Tie a decorative ribbon around the exterior of the jar to give a little decorative touch. 4) Make chocolate candies for guests to bring home. You can purchase melting chocolates and molds at local crafts stores. You can also use decorated baby food jars to hold these. 5) You can buy several baby bottles and fill them with either candy or bath salts. These make excellent treats and favors for your guests to bring home. 6) If you have a talent for soap or candle making, you can generally find molds at any craft shop that will be baby appropriate and can make candles or soaps as keepsakes. These actually are fun to give and to receive so they are one of my favorites. 7) Make brownies or fudge and wrap them in cellophane. You can tie a baby themed magnet or cookie cutter to the cellophane with ribbon in or something that was appropriate to the theme of the shower for an additional goody. Use your imagination and be creative when thinking of homemade baby shower favors and keepsakes. Another great idea is to have everyone paint their own picture frame to hold shower photographs. You can supply simple wooden frames, paint, and painting supplies for them to use and they supply the imagination and take home the finished product. What a way to spend an afternoon.
