When you think about baby showers you typically think of gifts and games. Planning a fun baby shower should incorporate the use of several games in order for people to come together and have some fun.

Before starting the games, though, the host or hostess should make sure everyone is introduced and has something to eat or drink. Socialize for awhile and then start. Make sure you have a few trinkets to give away as prizes for each game.

Some of the most popular baby shower games are:

  What’s the Tummy Size - This popular game uses lengths of yarn to to indicate what each person thinks the size of the mother’s stomach is. Each person cuts the string then they are all measured. The person who is closest wins a prize.

  Baby is off Limits – Each person gets some tokens upon arriving at the shower. During the course of the party, if someone says the word “baby” the person who calls it first gets a token from the person who said it. At the end of the party, the person with the most tokens wins a prize.

  Name the Baby Items – This game is a contest to see who can write down as many baby related items as possible within an allotted time frame. The person with the most wins. For an added spin you can each call out an item and if there’s a duplicate item everyone who has it has to cross it off. The person with the most unique items wins a prize.

  Guess the diapers – This is a fun game that combines a present for the parents with a guessing game. A number of diapers is put into a container. Each person writes their name and the guess as to the number of diapers in the container. The person who comes closest to the actual amount wins a prize.

  Pin the Baby on the Mommy – This is a spin on pin the tail on the donkey, except you do not really use pins but tape. Take a picture of a baby and attach tape to the back. Have the mother to be stand up. The contestants are blind folded, spun around three times then sent off to try to put the baby on the mother’s tummy. The person who gets closest to the center of the stomach wins a prize.
