Baby Shower Plates | Match Your Party Theme

Baby shower plates come in many shapes, colors, sizes, and themes. There are so many to choose from that it really helps if you have a general theme in mind before even attempting to select the plates for your party. With so many online retailers and local stores, it is truly up to you, which is a more convenient way to purchase your plates.

Not everyone really frets over the baby shower plates but you would really be lost without them. Imagine trying to hold all that great food on a napkin. Yuck! At any rate, the good news is that there are plenty of plates to choose from. The plates are only a small portion of the supplies and equipment you will need in order to host a spectacular baby shower, but they are a necessary supply and some care should go into selecting them.

If you are really at a loss about the proper plates to choose and there aren?t really any ones available in your particular theme, you can always go with a complimentary color or clear plates. Clear plates offer some degree of neutrality and elegance that I think is appropriate for almost any situation. I do recommend however, that you keep your theme in mind when selecting your plates.

You will not want to use plates that contradict the theme you have chosen. You don't want to be too sophisticated if your theme is country teddy bears and you don't want plates that are too casual if your theme is chic and sophisticated. There are baby showers to suit every taste; I have even seen football themed showers in daddy's favorite theme that invite the dads to enjoy the festivities as well.

Whatever theme you have in mind, I promise there is a baby shower plate out there somewhere that will be perfect for the shower you have in mind. Remember imagination is a great tool when mixing and matching decorations to suit your needs. You may have to be a little creative but if you can see it, I'm sure others will as well. I don't mean to suggest you choose a plate that will absolutely clash with everything else but it doesn't have to exactly match the cups and napkins. It is perfectly acceptable to have plates that are solid and neutral but match the cups.

Any plates you choose should be just fine as long as you are pleased with them and they are the appropriate size and thickness to accommodate the foods that you intend to serve. I think the most important thing about the plates should be their practicality for their purpose. If you have plates that are too thin and you plan to actually serve more than lightweight finger foods, you might find you need a carpet cleaning after the shower. Be practical and be creative and you should have the perfect accessories for your shower.
