Your Baby Girl Shower Verse Sets the Tone for your Invitations
If you are hosting a baby shower for a friend or relative, you have probably checked out the many invitations that are available and noticed that many include a nice baby shower verse of some sort or another. Many of these verses are cute, some are silly, and some are absolutely boring. I really think that you would often do better to create a verse of your very own than to use some of the atrocious verses that exist on many invitations.
That is why it is important that you pay close attention to the baby girl shower verse on the invitation rather than selecting one based on the picture alone. You want people to actually want to come to the shower and look forward to it rather than dreading an afternoon spent with a host who lacks imagination.
I am a huge fan of doing it yourself whenever possible and a nice baby shower verse is definitely something I can do myself. I am also an extremely creative sort who actually loves spending the time and energy finding just the write verse. I feel that you can do well to print your own invitations, but many people feel that is going the super cheap route (they must not have purchased printer ink or card stock paper lately). However, only you can decide whether that is going to be the best route for you or not.
If you choose not to write your own baby verse, be sure to check out several verses, preferably without being swayed too much by the picture on the outside before making your ultimate selection. You want a verse that conveys not only the purpose of your gathering, but also the fun you will have. Adding a personal note to the verse can be helpful, especially if you have special requests of those attending.
Be sure that your verse is appropriate for the theme of the shower and everyone who may be attending (you don't want a verse that would appeal to younger women if many attending are friends of the grandparents to be). You will want something that will be inoffensive to everyone attending if possible. You don't want overly Christian invitations if half the guests are Jewish, etc. So be careful of these things and you should be just fine.
Remember that the purpose of invitations and the baby girl shower verse is to inform and encourage people to attend. The more people who attend the baby shower, the more fun you should all have. Try to choose a verse that gets your point across while sounding fun and you should have more guests than you know what to do with. Just make sure you have plenty of food!
